Command Surface
This page is a map, not a reference. The authoritative list of commands and arguments is the one your CLI prints, because it is generated from the SDK manifest your server publishes — so use this to find the right namespace, then run help inside it.
Shape of the surface
At the time of writing, a signed-in CLI exposes around 550 commands across 30 namespaces. Your install may differ: the surface tracks your server, and autessa login tells you the exact count.
Successfully signed in. you@example.com · tenant Acme Inc (544 commands)
Roughly 40% are reads and 60% are writes, and about 150 are listed-but-not-runnable — operations that live in the web app, which print where to go instead of executing. See What stays in the browser.
Reading a namespace
autessa help # every namespace with a paragraph on each
autessa <namespace> help # its commands
The namespace paragraphs are written to be read. They carry the intended lifecycle, the traps, and an explicit statement of what is not scriptable — which is usually the fastest way to find out whether the thing you want is possible from a terminal at all.
Building blocks
| Namespace | Covers | Read more |
|---|---|---|
agents | Create, configure, share, run and evaluate agents. Draft with create, configure with update, go live with publish. One-shot runs via execute; multi-turn via execute-create then execute. Conversation history and evaluation live here. | Agents |
tools | Create, configure, run and share the capabilities you attach to agents. create → update (set type and config) → publish. execute runs one directly; history reads past runs. | Tools |
tool-types | Read-only catalog of native tool types. categories browses; autessa tool-types <TYPE_NAME> shows a type's config fields, output and example. | Tool Types |
managers | Multi-agent orchestrators that delegate to sub-agents. Configure and evaluate them here — there is no execute; managers are run by hosted apps and end-user clients. | Managers |
autessadb | The system of record: tables, query, trigger, roles and access-log. The largest namespace in the CLI. | AutessaDB |
app | Custom web apps — create, pull and push source, publish, roll back, share, host and attach domains. | Custom apps |
workqueues | Durable background work queues. Create and configure queues, enqueue batches, monitor items, retry dead work, cancel a group. Items drain asynchronously, so enqueue returns immediately and you poll progress. | Workqueues API |
Automation and integration
| Namespace | Covers | Read more |
|---|---|---|
scheduled-events | Run an action on a schedule — invoke an agent or tool, update a table, or run a system task, once or on a recurring cron. Set actionType and the one matching action config. | Scheduled jobs |
custom-webhooks | Inbound webhooks. A public URL receives a payload, transforms it into named variables via JSONPath or an AutessaScript transform, and substitutes them into a target resource that runs asynchronously. The API key is returned only at creation and rotation. | Webhook handlers |
connectors | Third-party integrations, one family per provider, each with the same lifecycle surface plus provider-specific methods. Most are connected in the browser via OAuth; beehiiv, Ghost and Bluesky can be connected from the CLI. Stored credentials are never returned. | Connectors |
mcp | External MCP servers — create, read, update, delete and test server configs, and list the tools, resources and prompts a server exposes. Auth credentials are write-only. | MCP servers |
conversation-sync | Rules that copy a closed agent conversation's message log into an AutessaDB table for reporting. Runs asynchronously off the conversation-logged queue, never retroactively — a config applies only to conversations closed after it is written. This is not a deployment mechanism. | Conversation sync API |
trigger-history | Company-wide table-trigger execution history, newest first, with detail returning full uncapped event and response payloads. | Triggers |

phone-reminders | Personal setups where Autessa scans your calendars and calls you before events. Owner-only. | Meeting reminders |
sms-consent | SMS consent records. Web-app-only. | SMS consent |
voice | Read-only view of your voice-cloning library — instant clones and fine-tuned voice models, split by ownership and sharing. Creating, uploading, fine-tuning and sharing clones are web-app-only. | Custom voices |
meetings | Meeting-recorder reads: bots with their config, health and upcoming meetings, plus recordings. Everything that changes state is done in meeting settings in the web app. | Meeting recorder |
e-signature | Read envelopes, your signing inbox, PDFs, signing links, folders, templates and contacts, and organize envelopes into folders. Sending, editing, sealing, voiding and sharing envelopes are web-app-only. | Document signing |
qr-codes | Dynamic short links with scan analytics, custom design and UTM tagging. Slugs are assigned automatically, and a code's destination can change without reprinting. | — |

Poweruser API equivalence
Every command in the manifest carries a poweruser equivalent, so anything you can do from the CLI you can also do over HTTP with a poweruser key. Reach for the Poweruser API when you need unattended automation that outlives a CLI session, and the CLI when you want discovery, exploration and a human or an agent in the loop.
