Connectors
Connectors hold your company's authenticated access to third-party services — Gmail, HubSpot, QuickBooks, Notion, Box, the social platforms and more. At 156 commands across 24 providers, connectors is the largest namespace in the CLI, but it is also the most regular: nearly every provider exposes the same six-command lifecycle, plus a handful of provider-specific extras.

Key concepts
Use the connector, never the vendor API
If a task touches a third-party service, the Autessa connector already holds the credential. Reaching for curl, gcloud or a vendor CLI instead will either fail outright or route around the credential store — there is no path by which an external call picks up the stored token.
This matters most when you are driving the CLI from a coding agent, where the temptation to improvise is highest. See Coding agents.
Most connectors are created in the browser
A connector that authenticates with OAuth needs a human to grant consent on the provider's own consent screen. There is no create command for those — the CLI picks up an existing connector by id and manages it from there.
Three providers authenticate with an API key or app password instead, and can be created without a browser:

If no connector exists for a provider your task needs, the answer is to tell whoever is driving to connect it in the app — not to work around it.
Credentials are never returned
Stored tokens, API keys and app passwords are write-only. Reads report metadata and, where relevant, whether auth is configured — never the secret itself. OAuth tokens are refreshed automatically in the background, so a connector that has sat unused still works.
Access levels
Reads (all, get, get-sharing-details) need at least READ; update needs WRITE; share needs ADMIN; and delete is restricted to the connector's owner.

The connectorId is what you feed to every other command in the family — and what a connector-backed tool type needs in its config.
isActive: false is a connector that has been toggled off rather than deleted. Tools pointing at it will fail — check this first when a previously working tool stops.The common lifecycle

Because the shape is uniform, once you have driven one provider you have driven all of them. Run autessa connectors <provider> <command> help for the exact arguments — a few differ in details.
Provider-specific commands
Beyond the common six, some providers expose extras. These are the ones worth knowing about:

The scoping commands are the ones people miss. A Gmail connector exposes only the labels you have enabled, so a tool that "can't see" a label usually needs update-available-labels, not a new connector:

Box and Google Calendar work the same way, with sync-folders / sync-calendars refreshing the mirror from the provider when something new appears upstream.
