Partners
A partner is an agency or consultant that helps you use Autessa, for example by building your agents or running your automation. When a partner works with your company, you decide what they can see and do, and you can change it or remove them at any time.
What it's for
Connecting with a partner lets them keep an eye on how your company uses Autessa and, if you allow it, lets their team build and run things inside your company alongside yours. Some partners also offer to pay for your company's Autessa usage.
Your company stays yours. The partner never owns it, and they only get the access you choose. Any commission a partner earns is agreed between the partner and Autessa and doesn't change what you pay.
Navigating here
From the builder sidebar, open the Company section and click Partners. The page isn't available in your personal workspace.
When a partner asks to connect, or a partner's team can work inside your company, a banner on the Company → Team page says so, with a link to this page.
Anyone in the company can see the page. Only the company's owner, or someone who manages its team, can accept or change partners. Only the owner, an Admin or an Accountant can move the company's billing to a partner.
Key concepts
- How a partner connects. A partner can invite you to sign up, set up a new company for you (you own it), or ask to connect with a company their team is already a member of. In every case nothing is shared until your company accepts.
- Requests, your partners, and past partners. A partner asking to connect shows as a card at the top of the page: <Partner> wants to work with your company. Your partners lists the partners you accepted. Past partners lists the ones you declined or removed. If you have no partners yet, the page explains what a partner is and that requests show up there.
- Access is three separate choices. You can turn each one on or off independently:
| Choice | What the partner gets |
|---|---|
| See your usage | How many AI tasks your company runs each month. |
| See your spending | What your company spends on Autessa each month. |
| Work inside your company | Their team can join your company as Consultants and build and run agents, tools and apps with you. |
- Usage is the only choice turned on to start. When a request comes in, See your usage is selected and the other two are off. Change any of them before you accept.
- Working inside is what lets the partner's team in. Without it, the partner only sees the usage and spending numbers you chose to share. Someone from the partner who is also a member of your company in their own right keeps that membership, which you manage on the Team page.
- A partner can pay for your company. If the partner offers to pay, the request also shows <Partner> will pay for this company's Autessa usage. Your usage then goes on the partner's invoice instead of being charged to your company. See Billing Accounts for how this works.
How to accept a partner
- Open Company → Partners. Each partner asking to connect has its own card: <Partner> wants to work with your company.
- Check the access you want to give: See your usage, See your spending, and Work inside your company. You can change this at any time.
- If the card shows <Partner> will pay for this company's Autessa usage, it's checked by default. Leave it checked to bill your company to the partner, or uncheck it to keep paying Autessa yourself.
- Click Accept.
Only the owner, an Admin or an Accountant can move the company's billing. If you can accept partners but can't change billing, the billing choice is turned off and explains who can; you can still accept, and the partner can ask them later. If the billing can't be moved when you accept, the page tells you why, and your company keeps paying for itself.
Click Decline instead if you don't want to work with them. The partner won't be connected to your company and won't see anything in it.
How to accept when you sign up from an invite
If a partner emailed you an invite, the sign-up page shows <Partner> invited you to Autessa with the same three access choices. Choose what they can see and do in your new company, then create your account. Your new company is connected to the partner as soon as it's created, and if the partner offered to pay, it's billed to them right away. You can change the access later from Company → Partners.
How to accept when a partner offers to pay later
A partner you're already connected with can ask to pay for your company. Their card under Your partners then shows <Partner> will pay for this company's Autessa usage.
- Click Accept on that line, then confirm Bill this company to <Partner>?
- From now on, the partner pays and your company's usage appears on their invoice. Your own payment methods and plan stop being used.
Click Decline to keep paying for your company yourself. Only the owner, an Admin or an Accountant can accept or decline. You can stop billing to the partner at any time from Company → Billing (see How to stop billing to another company).
How to change what a partner can see and do
- Open Company → Partners and find the partner under Your partners.
- Click Change access.
- Turn choices on or off and click Save.
Turning off Work inside your company removes their team's access to your company right away.
How to remove a partner
- Open Company → Partners and find the partner under Your partners.
- Click Remove and confirm.
The partner stops seeing your usage and spending, and their team loses access to your company right away. The partner moves to Past partners.
You also stop seeing the partner's Marketplace apps, so you can't install them anymore. Apps you already installed from the partner keep working, and a paid subscription to one continues until you cancel it in Marketplace → My apps.
