Apps Enabled by Autessa

Some Autessa apps, such as FirstPass and Records Classifier, are turned on for a company by Autessa as part of its agreement. Once Autessa enables one for you, a company admin installs it from the Marketplace and decides when to apply updates.

What it's for​

These apps are larger products built and maintained by Autessa. Rather than having Autessa set them up behind the scenes, your company installs them itself — so you can see what's installed, when a new version is ready, and what it changes before you apply it.

Open Marketplace → Browse catalog. Apps Autessa enabled for your company are badged Enabled for your company by Autessa. Other companies don't see them. After you install one, it appears in Marketplace → My apps.

Only the company owner or an Admin can install, update, or uninstall these apps.

Key concepts​

  • Enabled per company. Autessa turns the app on for your company. If you don't see an app you expect, contact your Autessa representative.
  • No checkout. These apps are covered by your agreement with Autessa, so there's nothing to buy in the Marketplace.
  • Updates on your schedule. When Autessa ships a new version, My apps shows Update available with the release notes. You apply it when it suits you.
  • Changes that apply automatically. A few changes the app needs to keep working — for example, adding a column a new feature depends on — apply on their own, so the app keeps working even if you haven't clicked Update yet. Everything else waits for you.
  • Updates wait for running work. If the app is in the middle of processing when you click Update, it finishes or pauses what's running, applies the update, and then carries on.

How to install an app Autessa enabled​

  1. Open Marketplace → Browse catalog and open the app badged Enabled for your company by Autessa.
  2. Click Install.
  3. The app is set up in one step, with progress shown on screen. This can take a few minutes for a large app.
  4. When it finishes, the app appears in My apps.

How to apply an update​

  1. Open Marketplace → My apps. Apps with a new version show Update available.
  2. Click the app, then Update. The release notes show what's new.
  3. Click Update to apply it. Progress shows on screen, and your data is kept.

Autessa may apply an update for you in some cases, for example to fix a problem you reported. Some companies have their updates applied automatically by Autessa; if so, you won't see Update available — the app is always on the latest version.

How to uninstall​

Uninstalling one of these apps removes the app and its data from your company. It can't be undone, so you'll be asked to type a confirmation first. Talk to your Autessa representative before uninstalling.
