Partner Portal

The Autessa Partner Portal is where agencies, consultancies, and resellers bring clients to Autessa and earn on what they pay. Apply to become an official Autessa Partner, add clients in one guided flow, see the one next step for each client, and track earnings and payouts in one place.

What it's for

The partner program is for companies that bring other companies to Autessa and help them get value from it. As an official Autessa Partner you can:

  • Earn commission on what the clients you bring in pay Autessa.
  • Pay for clients yourself and get your reseller discount on their usage.
  • Work inside your clients' companies with their permission.

Only official Autessa Partners earn. Autessa reviews every application and every referral. Nothing is approved automatically.

From the builder sidebar, open the Company section and click Partner Portal. The portal belongs to the company you're working in, so switch into your firm's company first.

Anyone in the company can view the portal. Only the company's owner, or someone who manages its billing or team, can apply, add clients, submit referrals, or change how you get paid. Asking to pay for a client needs the owner, an Admin or an Accountant.

Key concepts

  • Official Autessa Partner. Your company becomes an official partner when Autessa approves its application. The portal header then shows a small Official partner badge.
  • Who pays decides how you earn. For each client you choose who pays Autessa:
    • Your client pays Autessa. You earn commission: your rate of what they pay, for the length Autessa set, once Autessa approves the referral.
    • You pay for your client. Their usage goes on your invoice with your reseller discount. You don't earn commission on these clients.
  • Clients. A client is a company you're connected with. The client owns their company and decides what you can see and do: their usage, their spending, and whether your team can work inside their company. You can't change those choices; only the client can. See Partners for the client's side.
  • Referrals. A referral tells Autessa that you brought a paying client to Autessa. Autessa reviews every referral and confirms your commission for it. You start earning once it's approved.

How to become an official Autessa Partner

Before you're a partner, the portal shows Become an Autessa Partner with a short How it works strip:

  1. Apply. Tell Autessa about your business. It takes about two minutes.
  2. Autessa approves. Autessa reviews your application and sets your commission and discount, usually within a few business days.
  3. Bring in clients and earn. Add clients, choose who pays, and earn on what they pay Autessa.

To apply:

  1. Click Apply to become a partner.
  2. Answer a few questions: your website (optional), what your company does, and how you'll bring clients to Autessa (optional).
  3. Click Send application.

While Autessa decides, the portal shows Your application is in review with the date you applied. Autessa emails your company's owner with the result, and once you're approved your commission and discount show up in the portal and you can start adding clients.

If the application isn't approved, the portal shows Your application wasn't approved with the reason. Update your answers and click Apply again.

If Autessa pauses your partner account, the portal shows Your partner account is paused. While paused you can't add clients, submit referrals, earn commission or receive payouts.

How you earn

Once you're approved, the top of the portal shows How you earn, with your own terms side by side:

Who paysWhat you get
Your client pays AutessaYou earn your rate of what they pay, for the length Autessa set (or for as long as they're a customer), once Autessa approves the referral.
You pay for your clientYour discount off their usage on your invoice. No commission on these.

You choose which applies when you add each client.

How to add a client

Click Add a client at the top of the portal. One guided dialog walks you through three steps: Your client, Who pays, and Confirm.

Step 1: Your client

The dialog asks Does your client already use Autessa?

  • No, they're new to Autessa. Enter Their email and, optionally, Their company name. Autessa emails them an invite to sign up.
  • Yes, they have an Autessa account. The dialog then asks Are you or your team members of their company?
    • Yes, we're members. Pick their company from the companies you or your team belong to, and Autessa asks them to connect.
    • No. Autessa creates a company for them. Enter Their Autessa email (the email they sign in to Autessa with) and a Company name. They own the new company and decide what you can see and do in it.

Step 2: Who pays

The dialog asks Who will pay Autessa for this client?

  • They will. You earn your commission rate on what they pay. Autessa reviews the referral first.
  • You will. Once they accept, they're billed to you with your discount on their usage. No commission.

Step 3: Confirm

What happens next sums up your choices and lists exactly what will happen, for example that your client gets an email with a link to sign up, or that they'll find your request in Autessa under Company → Partners. Click Change to go back, or click Send invite, Create company, or Send request to finish.

Whichever path you take, the client chooses what you can see and do when they accept. Until then they show in Your clients as Waiting for <client> to accept.

How to read Your clients

Your clients lists every client, one row per company that pays the bill. A client that pays for other companies (see Billing Accounts) appears once, with the companies it pays for listed under its name. Clients you pay for are grouped under Clients you pay for.

Each row shows the client's name, one key number, and the one next step that matters for that client:

  • The key number is the AI tasks they ran this month if they share their usage with you, or what you've earned if they're your referral. Otherwise it says Usage not shared.
  • The next step tells you where the client stands and, when there's something to do, gives you the button for it.
Next stepWhat it means
Waiting for <client> to acceptThey haven't accepted yet. When they do, they choose what you can see and do. Nothing for you to do.
Submit as referralThey're connected and pay Autessa themselves, but there's no referral yet. Click it to send one to Autessa.
Autessa is reviewingYour referral is waiting for Autessa. You start earning once it's approved.
Earning <your rate>The referral is approved. The row shows until when you earn (or for life, or from their first payment if they haven't paid yet) and what you've earned so far.
Referral not approvedAutessa didn't approve the referral, so you don't earn commission on this client. The reason is on the client's page.
Referral endedYou no longer earn on this client. Commission you already earned is still paid out.
You pay · <your discount> discountThe client is billed to you and gets your discount. Commission doesn't apply.
Pay for this clientYou chose to pay for them, but their billing hasn't moved to you yet. Click it to ask them.
Waiting for <client> to accept billingYou asked to pay for them. Their owner, an Admin or an Accountant needs to accept on their Partners page. Until then, they keep paying Autessa themselves.
ConnectedYou're connected, and there's nothing you need to do right now.

If you have no clients yet, the list explains your two ways to earn and offers Add a client.

The client's page

Click a client to open its page. Where things stand at the top shows the same next step, with its button and a sentence about what it means. If the client pays Autessa and isn't earning you commission or in review, you can also choose Or pay for them yourself to get your discount on their usage instead.

Below that, Companies lists the client and the companies billed to it that you work with, with what each one shares with you and an Open workspace button for companies where your team can work inside.

How referrals are submitted

When you add a client and choose They will, you don't need to do anything else. As soon as the client accepts, Autessa sends the referral for review on your behalf. Autessa still reviews every referral, and the client shows Autessa is reviewing until it decides.

If the referral can't be sent automatically, or the client was connected before you chose who pays, the client's next step shows Submit as referral when you can still submit one:

  1. In Your clients, click Submit as referral on the client's row (or on the client's page).
  2. Optionally add a Note for Autessa about how you brought them in.
  3. Click Send for review.

When a referral is approved, Autessa confirms the commission rate and how long it lasts for this client, starting from your partner terms.

  • What you earn. Commission is your rate of what the client pays Autessa before tax, including the usage of every company it pays for. It's earned when they pay each invoice, for the set period starting from their first paid invoice after the referral.
  • One referral per paying client. A client can only be referred once.
  • Refunds. If the client is refunded, the commission on that amount is reversed. If that commission was already paid out, it's taken from your next payout.
  • Ending. If a referral ends, you stop earning from then on. Commission already earned is still paid out.
You can't submit a referral for your own company or for a client you pay for. Clients you pay for get your reseller discount instead.

How to pay for a client yourself

If you resell Autessa and want to bill your clients directly, choose You will when you add the client.

  • A new client you invite is billed to you as soon as their company is created.
  • A client who accepts your request, including one whose company you created for them, sees <Your company> will pay for this company's Autessa usage when they accept, turned on by default. Their owner, an Admin or an Accountant can accept it along with your connection.

If their billing doesn't move to you when they accept, for example because the person who accepted can't change billing, the client shows Pay for this client. Click it to ask them again; the row then shows Waiting for <client> to accept billing until their owner, an Admin or an Accountant accepts on their Partners page. You can also ask from a client's page with Or pay for them yourself.

Once a client is billed to you, their usage appears as its own line on your invoice, with your reseller discount taken off before tax, and the row shows You pay · <your discount> discount. Commission doesn't apply to clients you pay for. These clients also appear on your company's Billing page under Companies you pay for. See Billing Accounts for how combined invoices work.

How to get paid

Earnings and payouts sits below your clients. Until you've earned anything, it's a single line: commission shows up there once Autessa approves a referral and that client pays. After that it shows your totals: Total earned (all time, after refunds), Paid to you, and Pending, plus Earnings by month, Payout history, and Agreement documents, which lists any signed agreements Autessa has attached for you to download.

Commission you earn is paid at the start of the following month, after the monthly billing run. Under How you get paid, choose one:

  • Autessa account credit — the default. Added to your Autessa balance automatically each month and applied to your usage. Nothing to set up.
  • Bank transfer through Stripe — sent to your bank each month. Set it up once:
    1. Pick your country (where you or your business pays taxes; this can't be changed later) and click Start setup with Stripe.
    2. Verify your details. Stripe collects your tax information (W-9).
    3. Link your bank to choose where payouts go.
    4. When the setup shows Ready for payouts, click Use bank transfer.

Bank transfers go out automatically after each monthly billing run and arrive in 2–3 business days. Your bank and tax details go straight to Stripe; Autessa never sees your full account number or tax ID.

How to publish apps for your clients

As an official partner you can publish Marketplace apps that only your clients see — all of them or the ones you pick — free or paid, with no Autessa review. Each client installs the app from its own Marketplace and gets your updates. See Partner Apps.
